The Wadley Fire Department is a proud volunteer department dedicated to protecting lives and property within the City of Wadley and surrounding areas. With 18 members—all trained to the Firefighter I certification standard—our team is highly skilled and committed to serving the community with professionalism and care.
Services We Provide

Every member of the Wadley Fire Department has earned Firefighter I certification, ensuring that our volunteers meet rigorous training requirements and are prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations. Wadley currently holds an ISO rating of 5/5X, reflecting the department’s commitment to readiness and safety.
Partnerships & Support
Wadley’s Fire Department operates with strong regional support and collaboration. We maintain mutual aid agreements with the fire departments of Louisville, Bartow, and Swainsboro, strengthening emergency response across our area. The department also receives an annual grant from the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners to assist with responses in unincorporated parts of the county.
As a participant in the Georgia Firefighter Pension Fund, our volunteers have access to valuable long-term benefits that recognize their years of service and dedication.
Leadership
Fire Chief – Curtis Tanner

As Chief, Curtis Tanner leads the department with experience, dedication, and a commitment to ensuring the safety of Wadley residents. He oversees all fire operations, training, and emergency response coordination.
Assistant Chief & Training Supervisor – TJ Moore

TJ Moore serves as the Assistant Chief and Training Supervisor, guiding the department’s ongoing education and preparedness. His leadership helps ensure that every firefighter maintains the highest standards of safety and performance.
Fire Inspector & Training Officer – Carlos Landaverde

Carlos Landaverde plays a critical role as Fire Inspector and Training Officer. He works to ensure code compliance and fire safety within the community while also supporting training initiatives for the department.
Lieutenant – Eddie Hudson

As Fire Lieutenant, Eddie Hudson provides essential supervision and leadership on calls. His role supports both safety in the field and the development of newer volunteers within the department.
