Reports, Requests, and Forms
How do I obtain a police or accident report?
Police and accident reports can be picked up at the Police Department Monday -Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. They may also be emailed to involved parties. A request must be made by phone, and personal identifiers will be confirmed before an emailed report is sent. Requests can be made by contacting the PD at (478) 252-9401. Accident reports can also be purchased online by going to buycrash.com and utilizing the case number provided by the officer at the time of the accident. Some can not be given out due to rules, policies, or laws.
What if I have an open records or criminal history request?
Suppose an individual wants to obtain a report in which they are not involved. In that case, an open records request must be filed with City Clerk Rita Hilton utilizing the City’s Open Records Request form. This form will also be used to request body camera footage.
Criminal History Requests can be processed at the police department Monday -Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. A signed consent form and a cash fee of $20.00 is required.
What do I need to drive a golf cart in the City?
Low-Speed Vehicle permits may be obtained at Wadley City Hall Monday -Friday from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. The annual fee is $25.00.
How do I request an extra patrol or welfare check?
Extra Patrol is a service that is offered by the PD. This can be requested if a resident is going out of town and would like officers to check their homes while away. It can also be used if the homeowner has observed suspicious activity and wishes for officers to show more presence in the area. Please get in touch with Assistant Chief Yoquan Bennett at
Welfare checks can be completed by contacting the 911 center non-emergency number at (478) 625-4014
If an individual wish to have an officer dispatched for a non-emergency purpose, they will need to contact the 911 center non-emergency number at (478) 625-4014.
Compliments, complaints
A Citizen Complaint Form is used if an individual wishes to file a complaint against an officer. For individuals who wish to file a commendation, please use the Commendation Form.
Community Relations
The goal of the Wadley Police Department is to build relationships with our community through its community relations team. The team hosts several events yearly from assisting the elderly to educating our youth about bullying, drugs, and personal safety.
