Residential Water Sewer Sanitation Rate Table

Water

In 2020 the city of Wadley began updating customer water meters to drive-by-radio read meters (ARM). This technology offers more accurate reads, gathers information about the customer's water usage, and provides feedback on a possible leak or other issues. The American Rescue Plan Act funded the majority of meter upgrades. 780 ARM meters were installed by the end of 2022, with approximately 92 meters left to install by the Summer of 2023. The increased information from these meters is an excellent benefit to managing our water system. It also frees up personnel from having to go and manually read every water meter in the city, which previously took six men about three days. Now, one man drives by in a vehicle and reads all the meters generally in about 10 hours. For additional information on the meters we have installed, please visit Wadley Radio Read Meters.

Wastewater (Sewer)

Wadley is preparing for wastewater treatment expansion to serve our current and future customers better. The development is also required to maintain compliance guidelines with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. The design Phase for the project will begin in Spring 2023.

Sanitation

In addition to Water and Sewer services, Wadley's residents may pay a monthly fee for bulk pick-up. This fee allows the resident to place a bulk item (Refrigerator, Old Furniture, or other non-hazardous material) or a pile (not to exceed 4'H x 8'W x 3'D) of yard debris for once-a-month pick-up. . The items must be placed at the curb in front of the residence and free from obstruction so crews can quickly load. Any bulk created from tree removal by a contracted Tree Service is the responsibility of the hired contractor. Items from another location are prohibited for this service. Additional Pick-up(s) of these items will cost an additional fee. Residence may opt out of the additional bulk pick-up service by calling 478-252-1116 (press 3 when prompted).
