The City Clerk serves as clerk of the Council and is appointed by the Council, upon the recommendation of the city administrator, for an indefinite term. The major duties of the City Clerk include keeping all records of the City Council; preparing, authenticating, and recording ordinances and resolutions; keeping elections records; notifying the Council of the impending expiration of the term of office of board and commission members; keeping the official seal of the city.
